Woodland Walk, Salen.

The village of Salen is situated a few miles west of Strontian. It is a pleasant little village, set in a bay with an hotel and shop.

There are several good walks in the area including some in the Sunart Oakwoods which are being restored to allow them to return to their natural condition.

The photos below are from one of the shortest but probably one of the prettiest walks in the area. The start of the walk is just opposite the Craft shop at the top of the village. It is a circular walk around a small lochan.

These pictures were taken in August  2003. It is an easy walk which takes about 15 - 20 minutes.
